Default most outrageous statement!

GOT TO BE THE MOST OUTRAGEOUS STATEMENT EVER MADE BY A PUBLIC OFFICIAL, LET ALONE BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. AND THIS GUY IS OUR "COMMANDER IN CHIEF".

HERE IS HIS RESPONSE WHEN HE BACKED OFF FROM HIS DECISION
TO REQUIRE THE MILITARY PAY FOR THEIR WAR INJURIES.

Bad press, including major mockery of the plan by comedian Jon
Stewart, led to President Obama abandoning his proposal to require
veterans carry private health insurance to cover the estimated $540
million annual cost to the federal government of treatment for injuries
to military personnel received during their tours on active duty. The
President admitted that he was puzzled by the magnitude of the
opposition to his proposal.

"Look, it's an all volunteer force," Obama complained.

"Nobodymade these guys go to war.

They had to have known and accepted the risks.
Now they whine about bearing the costs of their choice? It
doesn't compute.." "I thought these were people who were proud to
sacrifice for their country, "Obama continued. "I wasn't asking for
blood, just money. With the country facing the worst financial crisis in its
history, I'd have thought that the patriotic thing to do would be to try to help
reduce the nation's deficit. I guess I underestimated the
selfishness of some of my fellow Americans."

Well they should have realized when you join the armed forces, military, navy etc. etc. there are risks especially at a time where there is an escalating war in the middle east. Although I don't think it's their fault that there's a war, rather Bush's fault. Obama just got unlucky getting the baggage that Bush created for the U.S. And when you take things out of context they seem a lot worse than they actually are. Admittedly I find the statement appalling, but honestly I can't say I don't agree with him.

Nope. I'm not kidding. Sorry if it feels like I'm playing devils advocate.

Well, no as for that I don't agree with. But everything else I do. But I'm sure the government isn't going to pay for the injuries, which is incredibly sad.

oh, you mean that the soldiers knew what they were getting into right? yes i agree with that statement, i knew what i was doing when i joined the marines too. and i also knew i was going to go to vietnam also. but to think that your country would even think about making an injured soldier pay medical cost, for wounds recieved in combat, after you were ordered into said combat, is totaly assanine. and btw, they dropped that idea real quick.

BTW; i fixed your statement for you. i know you didnt really mean it is bush's war.
